You can now request documents from carrier-contractors through the Denim platform, and receive notifications when the documents are uploaded directly to your job in Denim. This guide will walk you through the functionality and usage of these features, empowering you to streamline communication and document management with contractors.
Requesting Documents:
To request documents from carriers, click on any Draft job from your Jobs Board. In the Job Details view you'll see a new Request Documents button. This button opens a modal window that allows you to select or enter contractor email addresses. We'll populate the email on file, which you can leave selected by default or toggle off. You can also enter as many additional emails as you'd like in the input field below, separated by commas.
After sending a document request, an entry will appear in the "Requested Documents" log, requiring a page refresh to view.
- The Upload Link Status will remain Active until the job is submitted.
- However, once a job is submitted, the upload link will become inactive.
- If you submit a job, then revert it to draft, the link will reactivate.
- Icons to the right side of the box indicate the state of your email:
- Closed envelope - Email has been successfully delivered but not opened
- Open envelope - Email has been opened
- Triangle with exclamation point - Email delivery failed
Receiving Documents from Contractors
When you send a document request, each contractor email you entered will receive an email with a customized link that directs them to an upload page, where they can securely attach the requested documents. It is important to note that each recipient entered while making a request will receive a unique tokenized link, ensuring confidentiality between recipients. Your contractors do not need a Denim login to use this custom upload page.

Each time a contractor adds documents, you'll receive an email notification. That email will include job details and a link to your Jobs Board with the relevant job filtered.
In the Job Details view, under the Billing Documents and Supporting Documents sections, files are divided into two columns: "My Uploads" and "Requested Documents." You can delete contractor uploads if necessary by clicking the "x" next to the file.
Once you have reviewed the files to confirm they are accurate and complete, you can submit the job for funding!
